Touch of Art is a PTSA sponsored program for all classes on campus that would like to participate. The program brings parent volunteers into the classroom to lead art instruction, typically, once or twice a month, where kids create beautiful masterpieces, emulating the masters, such as Degas and Monet as well as work from modern artists from all cultures such as Romare Bearden and Jacob Lawrence.
You do not have to be an “artist” to participate!! Parents are asked to come to a once-a-month art training (given the 1st Wednesday of the month), that is taught by two fantastic artists in our community. Ms. Debi & Ms. Kika will show you, step by step, how to instruct the kids on each project! It’s a wonderful, creative outlet for the volunteer and the kids love being able to participate!
Your child’s teacher may have asked for volunteers at Open House, and they will be sharing the names and contact numbers for you. However, I would love to hear from you – along with your name, room number, phone number and email address. We’re going to have a great year at Touch of Art, and I hope we can count on you to help! Please contact Allison Solomon at 818-645-6596 or alisolly@gmail.com for more information!
